Sandy Wainman, OT/L, Founder
An occupational therapist devoted to Sensory Integration Therapy, Sandy founded LifeSkills in 1993, creating the first clinic of its kind in Orlando. Sandy is Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) certified. She developed LifeSkills’ approach to sensory integration therapy and later headed up the clinical training and supervision of LifeSkills therapists. Sandy enjoys lecturing about sensory processing disorder (SPD) and is a Certified Hippotherapist who was featured on ONE Central Florida on local WUCF TV.
For over 25 years, Sandy changed the lives of Central Florida families and earned the respect of fellow healthcare providers. Through a chain of serendipitous events, she met fellow therapist, Hasim Bozkurt, who shared her understanding of SPD and her approach to sensory integration therapy. She invited him to take her place as director, knowing the center’s culture would be preserved and broadened under his leadership. Sandy’s influence continues at LifeSkills — her legacy of transforming lives embodies the heart and soul of our clinic and guides us each day.
