Jennifer Mavrofrides, PT
Jennifer is a licensed physical therapist who received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 1997. She has worked in a variety of settings, but pediatrics has always been her passion. Jennifer recently completed the Hippotherapy Level I and Level II courses and is delighted to add this form of therapy to her practice. This type of therapy utilizes the movements of the horse to engage sensory, muscular, and brain activity of the child. This whole-body activity can then be transferred into functional tasks. Jennifer has been involved with horses since she was nine years old and competed in the hunter/jumper circuit as a junior rider.
She was first exposed to the idea of Hippotherapy when she was in physical therapy school in 1995. This form of therapy blends a love of horses with pediatric therapy. It is a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together. In her spare time, Jennifer is busy running around with her five children and their four dogs.
“Speed doesn’t matter, and a step forward is exactly that, a step forward. I love watching my kids achieve new skills and use them in their daily lives.”
