At age 2, we were introduced to the world of Sensory Processing Disorder. Our son is a sensory seeker and on the Autism Spectrum. We know we are completely out of our depth and need the help of experienced professionals.

He seems to have an insatiable need for sensory input. We had been in OT for years, but never with a team specializing in Sensory Processing Disorder. We heard about LifeSkills from our friends who have received tremendous help for their daughter.

The evaluation and consultation were thorough and informative. Despite being in OT for years, the evaluation therapist revealed his low muscle tone in his upper back, which we had previously been unaware of. Additionally, we had never experienced a therapist of any sort who connected with our son the way she did.

The only obstacles for us are time and resources. The office manager helped us get him scheduled at a day and time that works for us, as well as explained our financial responsibility. Payment is monthly and seamless, which makes a big difference.

Our therapist has been instrumental in helping us navigate which input activities are regulatory for him, and which are dysregulating. She has also given us new tools for helping him regulate and home and on long car trips.

Our favorite part of working with LifeSkills is seeing our son’s absolute joy when he gets to come for a session. Wednesdays have become his favorite, and he counts down the days each week. He can’t wait to burst through the door to give the Office Manager a great big hug and hang out with his therapist.

Everything about the environment at LifeSkills is top notch. The option to drop off and pick up at the door is incredible for busy parents.

Our experience with LifeSkills has been different because of the staff. In our experience with MANY therapies for our son, it’s been really difficult to find therapists who connect with both our son AND us. LifeSkills is a place that’s not only helpful but enjoyable.
